Friday Challenge over at The Outlawz

Hi there everyone,

Before I get to my card I want to say everyone in Irene's path please prepare and be safe. Good thoughts for everyone. We have moved everything possible inside and secured anything still outside down.

Today is Friday and that means the Copic/Promarker challenge over at The Outlawz. My fellow design team members have some wonderful inspiration cards up. Please take a moment to check them out. I think you will be glad you did. The challenge is Anything Goes with copic or promarkers.

My card I have been wanting to try this image since the day I downloaded it from Make it Crafty.
I have to tell you I was a little taken back with all the ruffles. But I thought you bought it what did you think then. LOL

I thought okay let's try a mono chromatic look. I was very please at how it came out. It reminds me of those old tyme photo that you can have done a the beach.

I have colored her in all "E" tones. Her stockings if you look real close have a cross hatched pattern on them I did with my colorless blender pens. It is faint but there.

I have really been working on my ruffles and folds coloring. I think I am starting to get the hang of it.

The DP is by My Minds Eye- Lost and Found Market Street collection.
I used some ivory card stock to punch the lace border out with a Martha Stewart punch. Then sponged some tea dye distress ink on it. I also use the distress ink on the seam binding and flower to tie it all in with the colors on her dress.

I hope you will stop by and enter the challenge this week. We have some wonderful sponsors for the challenges. Here are some of the sponsors that are so kind to offer the prizes for our challenges.

Z Fold Card

Hello Friends,

Today's card is a Pollycraft image. Isn't she cute. All dressed up in her rain gear.

This is a new type of fold that I am trying. Jan Hunnicutt made the cutest card doing this fold. She has made a video on it. It is really easy. I think it made a wonderful card.

This fold might be in my Christmas Cards future. LOL

The image is colored with my Copics as is the pearl. Needed to have it match.

The papers are by Fancy Pants.

I hope you will visit Jan's blog and check her card and video out. She has some great stuff out there.

Until next time. Thank you for stopping by.

Flying Pixie

Hi There,

Happy Monday, hope everyone had a nice weekend. We went out to take care of some errands yesterday and got stuck in the middle of a terrible downpour. So much wind and rain that we had to pull into a parking lot to wait it out. Well today I read in the paper that the storm packed 77 mph winds and there was damage. No wonder we couldn't see. Lucky we were fine as were some of the others that did the same thing pulling over till it ended. I have only ever been in one other storm like that and it was a long time ago that a friend and I had just pulled into McDonalds with her brand new Mustang and the sign blew out and shattered all over her car. We had our hands on the door knob ready do get out but didn't. Thank goodness for that.

Okay, so on to my card. This is another image from Sureya. I tried a color combo that I don't normally consider. I also tried going with a higher contrast in my coloring of the ruffles. Still not sure I am happy with it.

The image is colored with my Copics. The paper is by Echo Park called Be Mine. See it can be used for something other than Valentines day. LOL

I added some black seam binding and some black pearls.

Her little wings have had some stickles added to them as well as the center of her flower.

I used xpress it Copic cardstock for the image.

I am entering this card into three challenges this week.

CMC- Winged things

Craft us Crazy – Anything goes

Stamps are Us- Anything goes

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Have a great day.

Notice something different?

Hello There,

Today I was suppose to be out doing yard work but we had a pretty good amount of rain last night so the grass was too wet to consider cutting. So what did I do. Well.....This. Do you notice anything strange about this image? Something a little off about it?

As you may know in the stamp world your images are normally black outline and then colored in. That is not the case with this one. Zoe owner of Make it Crafty came up with something that she calls "No Black Lines". She challenged herself to try and color with an image stamped in a very light ink to see what it would look like. If you have ever seen Zoe's work you know it looked amazing.

She has a Facebook page that is a gathering place. All kinds of the members have been trying this. So Zoe took one of her images and lightened it so it printed in a barley there gray and offered it to everyone to try it out.

From there you color. Doesn't sound too bad huh? Yea right. Let's just say it is a challenge.
You really miss those black lines. I think the look it gives is more of a painted look. I am pretty happy with the hair and dress. The face not so much. I think that is where I missed the lines the most. I added a few in to give her back a little nose and mouth.

I had started two other images when Zoe first came up with this but they are still sitting here on my desk. I just wasn't happy with how they were looking. Would I do this again. Maybe on a good day but I think I will stick with my black lines.

Let me know what you think, be gentle please :-)

Thanks for dropping by today.

The Outlawz- How does your garden grow?

Happy Friday Everyone,

Are you ready for the weekend? Hopefully you have something wonderful planned.

I am excited to share my card with you today. I finally broke out some dies that I have had for a good while now and have not used them. I was really happy when this card came together.

The Card is for The Outlawz Friday Copic/Promaker challenge this week. Our theme is How does your garden grow?

My garden right now seems to be growing more weeds than anything. Oh they mean the card.

This is a Penny Black Hedgehog stamp. Seems my garden on my card grows not only daisies but hedgehogs. LOL But isn't it just so cute. And the little bubble bee has such an cute grin on it's face.

The image is colored with my Copic's. The little Hello stamp is a Studio G stamp. I turn to that little stamp a good bit. Just right when you don't want a lot of words on the front of your card.

I added a little cloud background. The DP are from Memory Box Pixie collection and Imaginisce Enchanted Collection. The pearls I colored to match with my Copics.

I am also entering this card into the CMC challenge Friendship and color your embellishments.

Just to leave you with some of the prizes that you could win over at the Outlawz.

Hope to see you over at The Outlawz.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Pushing for Fall

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick card today. Can you tell I am so ready for fall. It can't come soon enough for me.

My card today is one that I made to play along for fun at The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.

I broke out my Just Rite stamps for this one.

I did some paper piecing with the leaves and stems. The check paper just reminded me of a county pumpkin patch. Not sure why.

If you have a chance stop over to The Outlawz and join in on one of many challenges that we have during the week. There are some wonderful prizes to be won by very generous vendors.

Don't for get to stop by tomorrow for my card post for the Copic/Promaker challenge.

Have a good day.

Teachers

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

I promise I will have a new card up shortly. Today I do have something that I would like to share as I know many in blog land are teachers or know of teachers.

I have a dear friend that had a “Teacher Supply Store” here. It was called Teacher I Am. Such a cute name. She had a wonderful business for 6 years but of course the economy took its toll. She was able to sell off a good bit of the merchandise that she had but still has a good chunk left. She is selling the items she has remaining at 50% off of the retail price plus shipping cost. Sorry but only shipping to US at this time.

Some of the items included are from companies like Carson Dellosa, Teacher Created Materials, Creative Teaching Press and many more. She has a fair amount of supplemental classroom books. Not a lot of classroom decorations. If you email her she will be happy to provide you with a list of the items she has or if there is something specific that you are looking for you can ask if she has it. Here is her email address teacheriam1@yahoo.com. Her name is Marilyn.

I thought I would re-post a card from a week or so ago since it was a school theme.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Color an Animal

Happy Friday,

Is everyone glad it's Friday? Any good plans for the weekend? Me not really just the dreaded yard work.

Today I am happy to show you my first DT card for The Outlawz. I hope you will come by and join in on this challenge.

For Friday's Copic/Promarker challenge you need to color an animal with your Copics or Promarkers. Can be any animal. Mine is in the rodent family. LOL . But you have to admit a cute one though.

This is a house mouse stamp that I got a couple of years ago. It is still available on the House-mouse.com site. The number is HMUR1067.

This gorgeous paper is by Memory Box called Nightfall. It is available at SCACD. I just got in a nice size box of papers from Susana. See my post from yesterday to see all the goodies.

These little ones are Muzzy and Monica and they were colored with my copics.
The ribbon is black seam binding. A few black pearls were added. The spider on the ribbon is the little plastic rings that you can get at your local $1 store. I added a little Black Diamond Stickles I got mine at Oozak.com. If you have not seen the Black Diamond Stickles you should give it a try it is really pretty. It is also a non transparent. If you put it on white paper it will remain black with sparkles after it dries.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today and look forward to seeing you over at The Outlawz.

It was like Christmas here today.

Hi there,

I am back again. I wanted to share with you some goodies that I received today. Just in time to start making some holiday creations.

These are all Fall/Halloween and Christmas Papers. The pictures just doesn't do the paper justice.

These are a couple more paper pads that I thought were really pretty. I also picked up some Glamour Dust and a Versamark Pen. Both I have been wanting a long time.

I got all of the above at SCACD. She has a lot of new papers in right now.

As an added bonus Susana always includes a small gift with your order.

Now this baby. I got from Amazon. Roxann over at The Outlawz used this on one of her cards and I just fell in love with it. She enables very well :-). But I have to say this punch is gorgeous. I think it will be great on some Christmas cards. You could really use it on any type of card but I just thought of Christmas when I saw it.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my goodies.

Christmas in August

Hi there,

Today has brought us some rain but one part of our little state got hit hard. With some tornado like winds, rain and hail. A few house had trees come down on them and a couple in the city had their roofs ripped off. A lot of down trees and telephone poles snapped. This was to the north of us which really is only about 20-25 miles from us. Thank goodness we only got rain.

My card today is another Christmas card. I love this stamp it is by Mostly Animals which is no longer in business. What a shame they really had some nice stamps.

I have colored the candles with my copics. I applied glossy accents over the glass globes of the candles.

This is for the Tuesday color challenge at The Outlawz. The challenge was to use Red, Green and White but also to add a transparent embellishment.

Ok, this challenge had me stumped for a bit. I kept thinking what do I have that I could use as a clear embellishment. The light bulb finally went off. I had this transparent roses that I have had for years. So I added a bow and a transparent rose and a red rose.

I knew I wanted to use the glossy accents and wasn't sure if that really was a transparent embellishment. LOL

It's a pretty simple card but effective.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening.
