Simple Christmas

I'm Back. Hope everyone has had a nice weekend.

I am back with another Christmas card. This is a very simple card. But I think it makes a statement. Well at least I hope it does. LOL It is also one of those cards that you can make lots of really quickly.

This is a Stampin Up roller stamp. I have embossed with Judi Kins embossing powder.

I made two score lines on top and bottom of the stamp just to set it off. It is layered on some gold cardstock then green.

The embossing really picks up the colors of the card in person but not so much on the camera.

This is for The Outlawz Sunday Challenge. It is their CAS challenge and it was for Christmas in July.

Ok this is my last post for July. Hope every one's Monday starts the week off great.

Halloween Box

Hello and Happy Sunday,

Here is a quick treat box that can be used for any event. I made mine up as a Halloween treat box. This is an old template that I had to make this box.

I used some Halloween papers that I had. The two pumpkins and the "happy halloween" stamps are $1 stamps. The little mummy is a chipboard die cut. That came with the paper.

I colored the pumpkins with my Copics. I also colored the background over the Happy Halloween as it looked a little plain.

I shredded some of the papers for the inside of the box.

A couple more chipboard die cuts.

I am entering this into The Outlawz challenge "Paper a la mode" This week the challenge was to make a box, gift card holder etc.

Thanks for stopping by and I will have another post for you shortly.

Sweet Pixie

Hi Again,

I am back this evening with another card.
This is for another challenge at The Outlaws. This is their Friday Copic/Promarker challenge. This week was anything goes.

This image is by a young lady by the name of Sureya. She offers these images for you to color. She does some fantastic work. I am calling this one a pixie but I guess it could also be an elf. I didn't even notice it till I started coloring the hair and boom there were the ears popping out of the hair. LOL

I was practicing coloring my folds some. I am determined to get them down better than I have.

If you have a chance stop by Sureya site and check her work out.

Thanks for stopping by again and have a good weekend.

Smeared Pigments

Hello Everyone,

I have dug into my old projects I used to teach at the stamp store that use to be here. This is something that I called Smeared Pigments. This was long before the alcohol inks came about in the main stream. This is using Pigment Inks such as color box/cat eyes and Gamsol. What you do is just take some smooth but not glossy cardstock smear different colors of pigment inks onto the cardstock and then take a cosmetic sponge and dab a little of the Gamsol on it and smear the colors together. Let the cardstock dry well. I would say give it a good hour. They you can stamp or emboss on it.

Once mine was dry I gave a little spritz of homemade shimmer mist for a little sparkle.

This is my project that I am entering in the POM challenge over at The Outlawz. It is an anything goes challenge but you cannot use alcohol inks such as copic or promakers.

I went with a book marker. The picture makes it harder to see the real beauty of the background that you make by doing this technique. If you click on the picture and enlarge it you will see it a little better as well as on the last two pictures on this post. I used purple and blue cats eye pigments left some white then when I "smeared" the ink to blend together. It makes a very pretty background. I thought it was a good one for this image.

The more you try you will find what colors you like that blends the best together. The key is using the cosmetic sponge for your gamsol. It makes a smoother blend. You can use paper towels but will get a different effect.

I hope you will give this a try, make a bunch at one time then save them for when you need a background paper to stamp on.

This one was done with orange and light tan and a little yellow. After it dried I stamped and embossed this old Hero Arts image with white embossing powder.

This one was a lot of yellow and just a touch of purple in there.

Just an added note. If you are using your ink pad directly to the paper do your lighter colors first as so you don't stain your ink pad. Colorbox did make some tools that you could use if you have them. They were popular with the Magenta direct to paper craze was around. Let me know if you should have any questions regarding this technique.

Thanks for stopping by today. I might be back later with another card.

Another Christmas in July Card

Happy Friday Everyone,

Wow first off Thank You to all my Subscribers. I hit 100 subscribers today. Thank You Everyone. You're the best.

My card today is another check off my Christmas list of cards. LOL
This card is for the Wednesday's Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz.

The DP is Basic Grey's Jovial. I wasn't sure I would like this paper when I got it but I have to say I have used it twice now and I am really liking it on the cards.

My stamps are Stampin Up (deer) and Paper Trey Ink (tag). The Paper Trey Ink has a matching Die as well.

I stamped the verse in Cherry Cobbler SU ink and the deer in Chocolate Chip SU ink. What is up with them and the name of foods for their inks. They are getting like OPI and their nail polish colors. LOL I want that job of naming inks and nail polishes. I think I could come up with some pretty good names. Hummmmm

Thanks for stopping by and Thank You again for becoming a subscriber to my blog.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Bright Yellow, Dark Blue and White Oh MY

Hello Again,

I am back today with another card. This is also for a challenge over at The Outlawz. This is for their color challenge. You needed to use dark blues, bright yellow and white. I have to tell you this was a very difficult challenge for me because Blue and Yellow are my two least favorite colors of all. You will not find Blue or Yellow in my house.

I gave it a try and this is what I came up with. My first attempt in now in the trash as I disliked it so much I wouldn't even give the card to someone to draw on LOL.

This is a MFT Pure Innocence image. I think this image is so cute. It is very easy to color too. I have colored her with my Copics.

A little Stickles is added to the cupcake sprinkles and her hear in her hair.

Thanks for stopping by again. It's almost the weekend.

Anything But Square

Hi There,

Well it is Thursday. The week started off slow but seems to have picked up.

My card today is for the challenge over at the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card. The challenge called for "Anything but Square". I went long and tall. LOL.

I have to change my background cloth back to white the brown color gets lost.
My greeting is one of Impression Obsessions Cover a Card stamp. I just got this one at the Ocean City Maryland Convention this year. This was the first time I used it and I love it. I stamped it on an slant and embossed in white. You could even pick out one of the fonts you like and cut out the Happy Birthday after you stamped it.

The little girl is from Tickled Pink. She was fun to color with my copics.

The dotted background paper is from a Stampin Up pack.

Thanks for coming by today.

Orange and Yellow

Hello Everyone,

This is a very simple card today. It is for a challenge over at The Outlawz. This is for the CAS challenge. The challenge is to use the colors of Bright Yellow and Orange.

This image is by MFT. She is colored with Copics. My papers were in my scrap paper folder so I am not sure who makes them.

The little smile stamp is an old stamp I got from Joann's. The was a bucket of verse stamps for something like $10 and it was marked down.

I used a masking tape around the edges of the image and sponged with ink.

These are the colors I used for the little girl. It is amazing at how many colors you can use on a small image. LOL

Thanks for stopping by to have a look today.

Updated Stamp Area Pictures

Hi Everyone,

This is my second post for today. I finally got my Stamp Area cleaned up and neat and thought I would take some pictures of it. I have put them in a slide show.
Please click on the little speech bubble in the lower left hand corner for the captions.

Thanks for taking a look

Pretty Christmas Paper

Happy Tuesday All,

Before I get to my card I wanted to add this information for anyone that might be interested in taking a class on Copics.

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING COPIC CLASSES: For anyone that is in the area of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey or Pennsylvania or anyone that would be willing to travel to Delaware. Anary , the wonderful artist behind Gilli Stamps does not live too far from me and is trying to put together another Copic Class taught by the one and only Suzanne Dean. Suzanne was here in Delaware last October and I had the privilege to meet her and Anary. Anary is trying to help gather enough students to have Suzanne come back September 10th.

If you would like to learn , improve or brush up on your Copic skills this would be a wonderful chance. Suzanne is the owner behind Color Me Creative Classroom where she has online Copic classes, last year she started to take her classes on the road.

In order for Anary to book a time slot with Suzanne and book the classroom she needs a certain number of student to commit to the classes. If anyone would be interested please contact Suzanne at sjdean0574@yahoo.com so that she can get an idea if there will be enough people interested to set this up. You can also visit her site regarding her “On the Road” classes at http://www.cmcroad.com/

Okay, here is my card. I broke out my small collection of Just Rite stamps that I have. This was the first time I have used them with my Copic markers. I am really please with how this came out.

The DP is the Basic Grey Jovial collection. When I first pulled out this paper I though oh maybe a bit too dark but when I put the image and the ribbon and pearls with it I loved it.

I have also used gold Stardreams text weight paper.

I don't think the pictures do this card justice.

I think I may make a few more of these for Christmas cards this year. :-)

I am entering this into a few challenges this week.

Wings Everywhere

Hello Everyone,

Well it is the start of another week. Nothing special planned. Just coping with this heat wave that will not leave us.

My card today is for a challenge over at The Outlawz. This is their Copic/Promarker Friday Challenge. The Challenge was "Things with Wings". These images are by CC Designs aka All that Scraps. These are the Swiss Pixies. Aren't they cute?

Everything is cut out. The little girls are up on foam tape to give them a little 3-D look.
They are colored with my Copics.

I created a little background for them by sponging some green and blue. I then added some clouds with my cloud template and stamp some grass with an old Stampin Up stamp I have.

The pixies wings as well as the butterflies have Stickles Stardust on them.

Okay, I always have good intentions to write down the colors I use but I end up putting two or three on the list and then forgetting and putting the markers back. I thought okay I have a bunch of these tin buckets so I put them in there as I went along and though I would just take a picture of them rather than trying to write them down and forgetting. I always hated being a note taker in a meeting because I would start to take notes then get so involved with the meeting I would forget to take the notes. Can you see a trend here. LOL

Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening.

Just Relaxing On My Summer Vacation

Hi There Everyone,

First off Thank you for all the terrific response I have had on my Winter Glitter Coaster. I did add the instruction if you would like them to the bottom of that post. If you should have any question please ask.

Well here is another project that isn't a card or colored with Copics. LOL

This is for Mo's Digital Pencil's blog challenge #92. The challenge is Summer Vacation. Well what better way than just to stop, relax and smell the flowers.

Still working on my challenge to myself to use something that I have had for a while. I did just that. I have had these unfinished wooden boxes forever as well as the little porcelain topper.

First I took some distress ink to age the box. Then I stamped (this is the only "stamp" of Mo's I own all others are digital) my image in brown ink . Since I wasn't going to color with any kind of makers I didn't use a permanent ink. I used chalk to give her a hit of color.

I used distress ink around the edges of the porcelain. I then sprayed with Krylon triple thick clear spray.

I added a bow to the box and then attached the porcelain topper with a strong glue to the top of the box. I added some decorative paper to the inside of the box and lid to finish it off a bit.

Well I went outside the box again. I think I am having fun doing this. I used to push myself years ago to do this but then fell into a groove of doing just cards again.

Hope you like my "outside the box" project.

Thanks for stopping by
